Professor Peter Gatiti serves as the Associate Vice Provost and University Librarian at Aga Khan University (AKU), where he manages a global network of 12 libraries across six countries, including Pakistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and the UK.

He holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Bolton, an MSc in Information Systems from Leeds Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor’s in Information Science from Loughborough University. He is a fellow of the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs at the University of Illinois. He has also attended training in the Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians at Harvard Graduate School of Education.

His professional experience includes roles as a Specialist Librarian at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (UK) and a Database Developer at the University of Leeds (UK).

He serves as the Chairperson of the Kenya Library Association (KLA) and is a standing committee member of IFLA’s Statistics and Evaluation Section.

His research interests include evidence-based practice, bibliometric analysis, and knowledge management.
